A Down under-21 player in 1997, and part of Ballyholland senior football teams from 1996 to 2010, including picking up a couple of IFC titles along the way, Aidy’s football career will mostly be remembered for three things:
- The ability to kick the ball further than just about anyone. You didn’t block Aidy out of choice.
- A lovely pair of hands. If he was a few inches taller he’d have been a perfect midfielder.
- Injuries. A lot of injuries. And then some more.
Since hanging up the boots (sort of, he’s still kicking ball for the reserves), Aidy has thrown himself into the club and when he’s not running the under-8 and reserve teams, or helping out with the seniors, he’s even found organising social events for the club.
