Draw for the Mo Fearon 2016

Ballyholland got Burren, Carrickcuppen and Saval.

Published by Anthony McNamee on 23rd February 2016.

The draw for the 2016 Mo Fearon Memorial Cup took place on Saturday past at the club.

As with last year, there’s a healthy mix of local clubs and famous teams from across Ulster.

Last year’s champions The Loup will be back to defend their title, while Killeavy will be hoping to go one better after last year’s heartbreak in the final.

Group 1

Mayobridge, The Mournes, The Loup, Dromintee

Group 2

Carrickcruppen, Burren, Saval, Ballyholland

Group 3

Shamrocks, Slaughtneil, Mitchels, Kilcoo

Group 4

Bellaghy, Crossmaglen, Rostrevor, Killeavy

Thanks again to all the teams who are taking part to help raise money for Newry hospice and Marie Curie.

Teams and their managers should note that there’s a few changes to the format this year:

  • All group games will be run off as straight 10-minute affairs, with no half time break.
  • The top two sides in each group will proceed to the quarter-finals.
  • All knockout matches will be 6 minutes each way.
  • There will be absolutely no leeway with timings. Teams are requested to be in Ballyholland for 12pm. The first group matches are at 1pm, and the final will throw-in at 3pm sharp.
